Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Did you know, how you think directly impacts what you receive from the Lord? That’s right. Our stinking thinking sometimes gets in the way of our receiving. Stay tuned to find out more.

Narrator: Healed and Whole Part 6
Welcome to the abundant life program with Ashley and Carlie Terradez.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
Hello and welcome to Abundant Life. My name is Ashley Terradez, and this is my wife, Carlie, and we’re so glad you’ve joined us today. We’ve got an exciting program for you. We’re talking about how you think. How you think can affect how you receive from God. So this is great. I’m excited about this because I believe it’s really going to help a lot of people. It’s going to help me too. I need reminding of this stuff.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Amen.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
It’s good.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
In Romans 12, it says that, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Now, that’s a big script. That’s Romans 12 verse 1 and 2. But what that’s talking about is a transformation that happens in our life as a result of getting the word of God and planting it down on the inside of us and letting that word take fruit. We’ve mentioned, this is our healing series. We’ve been talking about healing for a while now. And we’re right in the middle of our series. But today, we’re going to be talking about how our thinking directly impacts our receiving. And I don’t know about you, but it never occurred to me that healing starts first in the mind.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
Right, so we looked at a previous program about how we’re a spirit, or you’re a spirit, soul, and body. So there’s three parts to you. Your spirit, when you got born again, it became brand new. And in your spirit, you have all the power of God, you have healing in there, you have everything you need, praise God, ind your spirit. In fact 1st John 4:17 says, “As Jesus is, so are you in this world.” That’s your spirit part of you.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
Then we have a soul which is our mind, will, and emotions. And our mind’s really what we’re talking about today, the soul part of us, our minds, and then we have our body or our flesh. You can have your mind set on carnal things like we looked at last time. To be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Or you can have your mind set on life, on the word of God. And it’s going to bring about life and peace.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
That’s right.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
So what we think on really affects how we receive from God.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
That’s right.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
It’s the gateway.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Absolutely, many years ago, I was at a conference, and we prayed for an elderly lady in a wheelchair, and she had arthritis all through her body, and it was one of the most miraculous things that I’ve witnessed. It was really neat. She actually had metal fused through her shoulders and all down her back. She was stiff as a board. And she’d had multiple different problems. She received healing instantaneously. I don’t know what happened to the metal rods and things. But the arthritis left her body, the inflammation went, her joints became all free, she was able to move and bend and stretch. She got up out of that wheelchair, and by the end of the meeting, she was running around the room pushing the wheelchair.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
It was miraculous. Well, at the end of the meeting, it had kind of gotten late into the evening, everyone else had gone home, and she was still running laps around the room there. Well, her husband comes with the wheelchair and is like, “Now, come on dear. Time to get back in your wheelchair.” Because that’s what they’re used to their whole life. For years, she’s been in the wheelchair, he’s been the carer, they both know their roles. In her mind, she was a sick person, he was the carer. And that’s how they identified.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Well, because her… even though she had received physical healing, her mind had not been renewed, she just kept following along with the old pattern of thinking. She’s still thinking like a sick person. So she obediently jumps back into the wheelchair. And her husband pushes her off. This is a woman that’s been running around the room for the last half an hour, now gets back in… all compliant, gets back into the wheelchair, and now off they leave together.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Well, the next morning, they come back in together. And sure enough, he’s pushing her again in the wheelchair. And I talked to her, and she’s got all of the symptoms in her body have come back again. And to me, it really kind of just highlighted the importance of renewing our mind, the word of God. You see, receiving healing in our body is not complicated. We’ve talked about this is previous sessions. We receive the healer when we receive salvation. We overcomplicate things sometimes. But we receive healing from God the same way we received salvation. It’s a free gift. We say, “Yes please. I’ll receive it. Thank you Jesus.” Now, I’ve met many people that received healing into their physical bodies, but if their mind is not renewed to the truth of God’s word, they are unable to keep on walking in the healing that they’ve received in that moment.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
It’s almost like the mind is the firmest. It’s going to go back to what their predominant thoughts are.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Correct.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
Whatever they’re thinking on the most, it’s going to go back to. In fact, I’ve heard people say, “You can’t actually go a different direction than your thought life.” So whatever your thought life is, however your thought life is going, as you think in your heart if you like, as your thought life is going, your natural, you’re going to follow in that direction.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
That’s in Proverbs 23, right?

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
Proverbs… Have it right here, Proverbs 23:7 says, this is Proverbs 23 verse 7, says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” So as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. And that’s why you can have people that… for example, you can have people that are entrepreneurial, and they believe that they’re successful. They see themselves as a successful person. They see theirselves prosperous. And they can lose everything. Their business can go bankrupt, they can lose everything. I had a friend like this, ended up sleeping on his friend’s couch. Well, two years later, he was a multimillionaire again because he saw himself like that.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
And I know there’s a lot more to it. He had to put his hands to something and had to be diligent. But ultimately, because he saw himself prosperous, it didn’t matter if he didn’t have money or not, he was always going to be prosperous because that’s how he saw himself. He was going to go after that image. It’s almost like we project an image of ourselves in the future, and we go after that image. On the other hand, they did research on lottery winners. Most people that play the lottery see themselves poor, and they see themselves like, “I’m just going to get a lucky break.” They don’t believe in the whole entrepreneurial type thing. They believe more in, “I’m just going to get a lucky break.”

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Right.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
That’s their mentality. So their mentality is they see themselves poor, they see themselves as someone that needs a help or needs a handout. They’ll win the lottery, doesn’t matter how many millions they win, they did research… It’s 95% of people that win the lottery are back or worse financially five years later than before they won it.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Because they don’t have any roots in that.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
They see themselves poor, they see themselves as someone who’s… and they end up giving it all… losing it all. It all goes away. So that’s just an example of how you see yourself. They also look at this in sports… people who are playing sports, professional athletes. They say those who see themselves successful, those who see themselves winning, those who see themselves… they’re the ones that are much more likely to win than those who don’t see themselves… those who that think, “Well, we’re not going to win this.” Even if they’ve got more ability, even if they’ve got more talent… That’s why you end up with these teams that are matched-

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
The underdogs.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
Yeah, the underdogs coming through. Because they believe they can do it.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
They believe they can do it, yeah.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
So we’re not talking about mind over matter. We’re not talking about anything like that. We’re not talking about something that’s… But we’re talking about positive thinking. It’s huge. When you think and you agree with the word of God, it’s amazing what a difference it can make in your life. One thing I do is that… a daily routine, if you like, as part of my prayer time, I have confessions. I have things that I speak out-

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Oh, that’s good.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
… things that I believe. And they’re the word of God. They’re truth. I haven’t got them with me here, but I go through them. It talks about things like, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It talks about how, “I’m the righteousness of Christ.” It talks about how, “Nothing is impossible for me.” It’ll talk about how, “I believe in Jesus, therefore I’m going to see his glory,” talks about-

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
You start affirming who God says you are rather than-

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
The truth about me.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
… how you feel or what it looks like or what the circumstances are telling you.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
That’s right.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
You start affirming yourself according to the promises of God.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
It’s like your confession card. Carlie had a confession card. And it has scriptures about who we are in Christ. And I tell people, we look in a physical mirror… In fact, James talks about this. We look in a physical mirror to see what we look like in the flesh, but far more important is we need to look in the spiritual mirror. We need to look in the word of God and see who we are in the sprit. Without the word of God, we can’t see who we are in the spirit. And who we are in the spirit is far more important. It’s the real us. The real you is who God says you are.

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Amen.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
And how can two walk together unless they agree? So you need to agree with how God sees you. Say, “Ashley, I don’t feel like that.”

Carlie: Healed and Whole Part 6
Agree with God’s report.

Ashley: Healed and Whole Part 6
Amen, agree with God’s report. Isaiah 53 talks about the report of the Lord. Say, “Ashley, I don’t feel like that. I don’t feel like I’m righteous. I don’t feel like I’m this, that, and the other. I don’t feel healed. I don’t feel…” Don’t worry about it. Your spirit, that’s what’s going on in your spirit. Your spirit’s what counts. So start lining up your thoughts with who you really are in the spirit, and what you’ll see is you’ll start seeing that manifest on the outside. We walk by faith and not by sight.

Carlie:
Absolutely. I had a… Part of my testament of being healed of epilepsy is… it took a period of two weeks, but for me to really get my mind renewed to what the word of God said about that situation. Because I’d been sick for such a long time, the sickness had gotten in my mind. It wasn’t just in my physical body. I started to think sick, dream sick, if you’ve been dealing with a chronic sickness, something for a long time, the sickness plans your day, it tells you what to eat, if you can eat, if you can work. It takes over your calendar.

Ashley:
It’s part of your identity, takes over your identity, yeah.

Carlie:
It becomes part of you. I identified as having epilepsy. But the Lord had to break in and show me what it meant to be a child of God and paint a new picture on the inside of me that was different from what I identified with as being Carlie the epileptic.

Carlie:
Same thing happened with our daughter, [Hannah 00:09:09]. When our daughter Hannah was three years old, she was sent home from the hospital with a week to live, and praise God, she was supernaturally healed and she’s 15 years old today, and she’s just as healthy as anything, right? But in that moment when she was laying in the hospital bed, the doctor’s every day would come in and tell us, “She’s the worst case we’ve ever seen. There’s no hope.” They just painted a picture of gloom and doom. There was never anything good to report.

Carlie:
And during that time, and there was a couple of weeks leading up to Hannah receiving her healing, we were in the hospital, nothing in the natural looked like it had changed. But we had started to take the word of God. We’d heard the gospel, the gospel of power, the gospel that said, “God wants you well. God wanted Hannah well. And healing was available.” We started to take that truth and plant it in our hearts. And I asked the Lord… and maybe this is for somebody watching today, if you’ve been sick for a long time, you can’t even imagine what it is like to be well. Let God paint a picture on the inside of you of what the ‘well’ you looks like.

Carlie:
What does it look like? What does it feel like to get up every day and not have to take medication, to not have pain in your body, to be able to move without it hurting, to be able to eat anything you wanted, to never have to have another blood test or another x-ray ever again? What does it look like for you? And what God did for me with Hannah, he gave me three visions, two of which have come to pass, and one, we’re still waiting on, right? Because she’s only 15. But one of them was seeing her walking through the school gates in her little, green school uniform on the first day of school. Another one was her riding a red tricycle. And I’ve seen… both of those things have come to pass. He was showing me pictures of the future. He was painting a picture on the inside of me of what the healed Hannah looked like. Because every day we were looking at the sick Hannah. And the third one was, Ashley walking her down the aisle on her wedding day. She’s too young for that, right?

Ashley:
She hasn’t even started… I told her when she starts dating… I told her she can start dating when she’s 35.

Carlie:
Oh, my goodness.

Ashley:
And one day she gets married-

Carlie:
She’s our only daughter.

Ashley:
… I’m going to cry like a baby.

Carlie:
Yes, you probably will.

Ashley:
I was talking to someone else about their daughter getting married. And just them talking about their daughter getting married-

Carlie:
You started crying.

Ashley:
… started me crying. But anyway, those two pictures happened. She walked through the gates into school, a hundred percent healthy in her little school uniform. And she had little red tricycle she used to ride around. She’s a bit big for it now. She’s actually driving now. She’s got a driver’s permit so pray for us.

Carlie:
That’ll do wonders for your prayer life, teenagers driving.

Ashley:
Yeah, if you need help with your prayer life, just get your teenager in the car and teach them how to drive. That’ll really help your prayer life. Man, I’ve never prayed so hard. But anyway, two of those pictures have come about. So it’s important, the power of our imagination.

Carlie:
[crosstalk 00:11:45].

Ashley:
How we see ourself, how we see the circumstance. One of the ways you can explain this I like is, what are you saying? What’s your confession? How are you seeing yourself? What’s your confession? I may be jumping ahead of your lesson here. Am I jumping ahead?

Carlie:
You are.

Ashley:
Have you got a lesson on confession?

Carlie:
we do, but you’re-

Ashley:
I’m jumping ahead.

Carlie:
… dead right. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So whatever we’re thinking on, whatever we’re meditating on, we’re going to start speaking. And that is how faith’s released. But I want us to look for a minute, because some of us need to let Jesus interrupt our train of thought, right?

Ashley:
That’s good.

Carlie:
So let’s look. Here is the man of the pool of Bethesda, here. And this is in John chapter 5, the healing at the pool. It says, “After this, there was feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.” Now, in Jerusalem, by the sheep gate, there’s a pool, in Hebrew called Bethesda, having five porches. There lay a great crowd of invalids: blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. It says, “For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water. And after the stirring of the water, whoever stepped in first was healed of that disease,” whatever disease he had. Now, I like how it says this in the West translation. It actually says that they were healed of whatever disease had gotten possession of them and were holding them down.

Ashley:
Wow, holding them down.

Carlie:
And this is exactly what we’re talking about. When we’ve been sick for a long time, that disease starts to infiltrate how we think. It starts to tell us how to live our life. This man, every day, he says, in verse 5, “A certain man who had an illness for 38 years-”

Ashley:
Wow.

Carlie:
That’s a long time, right? So you can imagine… Now, we don’t know how long he’s been laying by the pool, but it sounds like quite a long time. Every day, he’s waiting, he’s dependent on other people to take care of him, to maybe bring him food, to put him there in the first place, maybe take him home at the end of the day. He’s waiting on lotto God, right? Just, “Maybe today, maybe today is going to be the day when I can get down, somebody will come and help me and put me into the pool. And I’ll just be there at just the right time, and I’ll be able to receive my healing then.” You see, his healing was all down to chance like somebody buying a lotto ticket. There was absolutely no guarantee. But look at what happens when he meets Jesus.

Ashley:
So he wasn’t in faith then, he was just waiting for-

Carlie:
Right.

Ashley:
We’ve had people coming to us like this. We do healing conferences around the country. And many a times you have people come up for prayer. And I remember one guy coming up for prayer just recently. And I said, “What do you want to prayer for?” He said, “Well, just do it. Just do it.” I said, “Just do what?” He said, “Just do it.”

Carlie:
Just do your thing.

Ashley:
“Just do your thing.” I said, “What are you believing for?” He said, “I don’t know. I just… Just do it. I just want to be better.” And he didn’t even know what he was believing for. He didn’t even know what was going to happen. And I’m not saying that doesn’t happen. God uses the gifts, praise God… He uses the gifts of healing and the gifts of working of miracles. So sometimes people get healed like that, and that’s fine. But I’m saying the long-term, really we need to understand that ourselves. Long-term, we need to be in faith ourselves and put a demand on the promises of God rather than just turning up and saying, “Well, I’m just going to… whatever happens will happen.” And that’s this man’s attitude a little bit, “If I can get down to the pool, then I’ll be healed.” Well, he didn’t have to wait to get down to the pool.

Carlie:
Right, so this is Jesus’s response to him. He says… In verse 6 it says, “When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he’d been in that condition now a long time…” So this isn’t somebody who’s just had a headache for five minutes. This is a man that’s chronically sick. He said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” In other words, he was saying to him, “Do you have a longing to be healed? Do you have a desire? How serious are you? Because your life is about to change.” And this is something that people need to consider. Because when we really come for healing or we respond to God in faith… we talked about this last time, we are having a ‘Now Faith Is’ moment. What do you believe is going to happen now when we pray?

Ashley:
That’s good.

Carlie:
That puts your expectancy at a whole different level. Look at the man’s response. We can see what happens when somebody has been chronically sick for a long time. It starts to fit their thinking. You can see this in his response. The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me in the pool when the water is stirred. But while I’m coming, another steps down before me.” You see, this man had faith. He had faith or he wouldn’t have been by the pool in the first place, okay? He had an expectancy.

Carlie:
But he didn’t realize who it was who was standing in front of him. Healing himself in the person of Jesus was standing in front of him. All of the healing power that he’d ever need to be free from that condition was right there looking at him in the face. But in his thinking, he was still thinking about the past, what happened in the past. And you can see that in his… when his response to him. So Jesus had to interrupt this man’s train of thought with a question. And often times in healing ministry, we find this to be really effective. Ask questions.

Ashley:
Yep, it’s good.

Carlie:
“What do you expect to happen when we’re healed? What does healing look like to you?” Jesus used a lot of questions when he was ministering healing to people. “Do you believe I’m able to do this?” Because as we was talking about last time, according to our faith, let it be unto us.

Ashley:
Yeah, Jesus just doesn’t ask questions because he needs to know the answer.

Carlie:
He already knows the answer.

Ashley:
When God is asking you a question, it’s because he’s trying to provoke… He’s trying to find out what’s in your heart. He wants to reveal to you what’s in your heart, what you believe in. This is very interesting. Because here in this case, Jesus asked the man, “Do you want to be well? Do you want to be made whole?” It says in my translation. “Do you want to be made whole?” And the man doesn’t really even answer Jesus’s question. He says, “Well, when I go down there, there’s no one to take me down there. And if there is someone to take me down there, then someone steps in front of me.” He’s not even answering the… Now, Jesus said, “Do you want to be made well? Yes or no?” And he didn’t even answer it. It’s like he was making excuses.

Carlie:
So Jesus’s response to this man, is he gives him a command, right? This wasn’t a please or a thank you. He was… he knew that this man had faith. He knew that he wanted to be made well. But he was referring to the fact the man had been suffering with a train of thought for a long time. He had to break in… It’s almost like if you could have grabbed him by the cheeks and said, “Look at me. Don’t look around my eyes. Look right into my eyes. I’m right here. Healing is right here and it’s right now.” He says to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And he says, “Immediately, the man was healed, took up his bed, and walked.”

Carlie:
This is written in a tense that is written as in command that requires full obedience. That is what the tense implies that it was written in. It wasn’t like Jesus was saying, “Well, if you just take up your bed and try moving and try walking, you’ll find you feel a lot better.” No, this was a command. You see, Jesus was creating in this man, an immediate response. You say, “No, now faith is right now.” Healing is available for your right now. You don’t have to wait for an angel to come down and stir the pool and somebody to come… We don’t have to wait for all of the outward circumstances to be perfect in order for us to receive healing.

Ashley:
Amen.

Carlie:
Sometimes, I think we’re in danger of making healing too complicated. And we’ve both met people that say, “Well, I’ve bound, I’ve loosed, I’ve tarried, I’ve fasted, I’ve prayed, I’ve done all these things to receive healing.” The problem is when we try to base receiving healing from God on us, we make it all about us.

Ashley:
We trust in our ability rather than God’s ability. And the fact is, grace is already paid for. Grace is already provided. But just like you receive salvation by grace through faith, healing comes the same way. It’s by grace. It’s by Jesus has already done it. And we have to rely on what Jesus has already done. The other thing as well, here, talking about this man wanting to go down the people and everything else, we can see that today in our circles, in Christian circles. People say, “I want to get to this healing evangelist. Or I want to get to this conference. If only I could get this man of God to pray for me.” And there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s nothing wrong. We encourage people, “Go to good conferences, hear good teachings, listen-”

Carlie:
Hear the gospel, the gospel of power.

Ashley:
“… listen to good ministers who are teaching the greatest message, who are teaching the truth. Listen to them. It’s good. It’s all good.” But if you’re running from person to person, from conference to conference to receive something from God, you’ve missed it because you can receive directly from God.

Carlie:
Amen.

Ashley:
And when we graduated Charis Bible College, an extension of Andrew Wommack Ministries. And when we graduated, I remember we graduated and Andrew Wommack was there and he said, “What’s the best thing, Ashley, about graduating Charis Bible College?” And I said, “The best thing is I don’t need you anymore.” And he understood what I meant, I explained it. But basically, because we’d been discipled for two years in the word of God, we didn’t need to go to a man to receive. We could receive directly from the word of God.

Carlie:
We had learnt what the power was that lived on the inside of us.

Ashley:
That’s right. So we could receive directly from the word of God. We could receive directly from God. Now, like I said, there’s nothing wrong with… I still listen to godly [Ben 00:20:16], I still listen to Andrew’s teachings, I still listen to other people’s teachings. But my point being you don’t have to wait for a person to pray for you to receive you healing. You can receive your healing right now. Everything God has for you, you can receive right now. Because if you’re born again today. You already have the power inside of you. And it’s just a question of you releasing it. So don’t think you need a certain man or woman of God to pray for you, to believe of you before your can receive your healing. You can receive your healing exactly where you are right now.

Carlie:
Amen, that’s good news. And Jesus said to him, “Rise up, take up your bed, and walk.” The way that this was written as well, being that it was a command, he was actually saying to him, “Be walking, start walking, and keep on walking.” Some of us just need to start where we’re at. Stop waiting for the circumstances to be perfect, just the perfect storm, “If I go to see this healing evangelist at this time, and if I’ve fasted, and if I’ve prayed, and if I’ve got my church attendance right, and if I’ve given in the offering, if I’ve spoken just the right words, and I’ve said, ‘in the name of Jesus’ so many times, or gotten everything under the blood, if I’ve taken this potion of herbs…” We don’t need to have everything right. It’s called simple, child-like faith. Receiving healing is not complicated. It’s as simple as receiving a gift. When someone gives you a gift, what do you say?

Ashley:
Thank you.

Carlie:
Thank you. We receive healing the same-

Ashley:
But sometimes I say, “How much was that?” Carlie buys the birthday presents, I’m like, “How much was that? Give me the receipt, and I’ll take that back.”

Carlie:
Anyway, honey, let’s keep on track here. But it’s not difficult to receive a gift. We just need… We receive healing the same way we receive salvation, not based on our performance or our actions or having all of our theology in exactly the right place. But we can receive from God right here, right now, today. And like Jesus was saying to this man, “Be walking, start walking, and keep on walking.” When that man first made the effort to get up, he didn’t know that he could walk. We overlook this sometimes. He didn’t know that he could walk until he tried. And part of faith, we’ve been talking about faith in previous episodes here, but faith has an action to it. In James it says faith without works is dead. When we really believe something on the inside of us, it provokes us to action. Faith can be seen. There are many occasions in the new Testament where it says that, “They saw their faith.”

Carlie:
We don’t perform actions to prove our faith, but when we really believe something, you can hear it, you can see it, amen. There is a corresponding action when you really believe something. And so, this man, although he might not have known initially that he could walk before he tried, he had to try and do something he couldn’t do before. We’re going to pray at the end. And I’m just going to encourage you, try and do something you couldn’t do before. Because walking starts with standing and starts with taking one step after another step after another step. So you don’t have to believe for the whole enchilada. You can start where you’re at. You can start with the beans and rice if you need to.

Ashley:
Correct.

Carlie:
You can start with just a little bit. What can you believe God for right now? And a little bit more.

Ashley:
That’s good. That’s one way a lot of people receive their healing. They can believe God-

Carlie:
It’s as a starting point.

Ashley:
They can’t imagine… They can’t think within themselves what it would be like to be completely healed, but they can imagine what it would be like to do a little bit. I had a friend once, and he was completely paralyzed. He had a motorcycle accident, completely paralyzed, and she believed… his wife was standing in faith for him. And he was there in the hospital bed. And she believed that he would be able to move part of his body, his toes. Remember that?

Carlie:
Mm-hmm (affirmative). Yeah.

Ashley:
And he started moving his big toe. And when he started moving his big toe, she got so excited. She said, “He’s going to walk. He’s going to walk.”

Carlie:
She celebrated every-

Ashley:
Every victory.

Carlie:
… seemingly small victory.

Ashley:
And she imagined what it would be like just for his toes to move, and then his foot to move, and the doctor said, “No, no, no, you’re getting your hopes up. Don’t get your hopes up. He’s never going to walk. He’s never going to walk.” Well, it’s just, I think, six months later, he walked out of hospital. And now, he’s walking around absolutely fine now. But it started with just a little bit-

Carlie:
Just a little bit.

Ashley:
… just a little toe wiggle, just a toe wiggle.

Carlie:
Right, and celebrating… We talked about this early on. But the smallest improvement… our natural mind, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” We mentioned that scripture. Our natural mentality is to look at the glass half empty rather than the glass half full. If we speak to our body, and some of the pain leaves but we still have a little bit left, let’s have a praise party. Let’s thank God that the power of God is working in our body. Because when we praise, what happens is we open the door to the power of God working in that situation.

Ashley:
It’s like inviting the power of God in.

Carlie:
Absolutely.

Ashley:
And then, I say negative thinking is seeing the glass half empty. Positive thinking is seeing the glass half full. Thankfulness will make the glass overflow.

Carlie:
Amen.

Ashley:
It really does.

Carlie:
Amen.

Ashley:
It releases the power of God.

Carlie:
And the joy of the Lord our strength.

Ashley:
Amen, it really is Nehemiah 8:10.

Carlie:
8:10.

Ashley:
8:10, amen. Well, we’re out of time. We’re going to pray for you before we let you go. And we believe the power of God is right where you’re at. You don’t have to wait to get to a conference or wait for someone to lay hands on you.

Carlie:
You can do it right now.

Ashley:
You can receive from God right now wherever you are.

Carlie:
Amen.

Ashley:
So we’re going to pray for you. Father God, I thank you for everyone watching and everyone listening to our voice right now. I’m thankful the power of God is right there with them, the power of God to heal them right now. And we speak healing to their bodies right now in Jesus name. Be healed and whole right now in Jesus name.

Carlie:
Amen, amen. Father, I thank you that greater is your power in us than he that is in the world. And we take authority over the kingdom of darkness from operating our body. We refuse to let sickness and disease enter and cohabit in our body any longer.

Ashley:
Amen.

Carlie:
We take authority over you, and we command you to leave, every line, symptom from the pit of Hell, you can return from whence you came.

Ashley:
Amen.

Carlie:
We speak restoration, life, and peace to cells, to organs, to bones, to joints right now.

Ashley:
Amen, amen.

Carlie:
Right now, we release the power of God into bodies, hearts, and minds in Jesus name.

Ashley:
Amen.

Carlie:
Amen.

Ashley:
Amen, receive that. And if you have received, give us an email. Go on our website, tell us about it. We’d love to hear your testimonies.

Carlie:
Amen.

Ashley:
We’d love to hear from you. So we’ll be back real soon with the next part of this. But until next time, remember, don’t just live a normal life when you could be living the abundant life.

Carlie:
Amen.
